The Game:
Each player will start with 35 million dollars in their account. The studio with the most money in their account at the end of the game wins.
How to Play:
Each week there will be five Movielines. A Movieline looks like this:
Big Hero 6 (-1) vs. Interstellar
In this example, a bet for Big Hero 6 means you think it will make over 1 million more than Interstellar for the weekend.
Movieline matchups will be posted by 4pm CST on the day before the deadline (usually Thursday). You must bet in all of the week's Movielines and you can bet from 1 to 5 million on each Movieline, however you may not bet more than 15 million
per week. There is no penalty for missing an entire week of Movielines. If your balance falls below 5 million your game is over, better luck next game. Weekly results will be posted Monday night or Tuesday morning.
Duration of the Game:
The first weekend of releases is Nov 10-12, 2017 and the last weekend is Feb 16-19, 2018 (15 weeks).
Holiday Weekends:
All weekends will be three day weekends consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday EXCEPT for the following holiday weekend(s):
Thanksgiving Weekend: consists of 5 days (Wed Nov 22 - Sun Nov 26)
Christmas Weekend: consists of 4 days (Fri Dec 22 - Mon Dec 25)
New Years Weekend: consists of 4 days (Fri Dec 29 - Mon Jan 1)
Martin Luther King Jr Day Weekend: consists of 4 days (Fri Jan 12 - Mon Jan 15)
President's Day Weekend: consists of 4 days (Fri Feb 16 - Mon Feb 19)
Deadlines:
The deadline for all bets is 12pm (Noon) CST of the deadline date listed on the top of the Movielines page.
Timezones:
12pm CST = 10am PST (-2hrs); 11am MST (-1hr); 1pm EST (+1hr); 6pm in the London, England (+6hrs); 7pm in Paris, France (+7hrs); 9pm in Athens, Greece (+8hrs); 12am in Jakarta, Indonesia (+12hrs); 1am the next day in Hong Kong (+13hrs).
